    Non-linear structural analyses and Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA) requires strong ground motion time histories (accelerogram) which often are taken from recorded past events. CATHAZ provides tools to adjust recorded time histories to match selected target response spectrum. The software also provides simulation algorithm which synthetically generates accelerogram matching target response spectrum and regional seismotectonic environment. As the target response spectrum, the user can introduce a user-defined spectrum or let the software to take uniform hazard spectrum for a given return period. A practical approach is to match the selected ground motion records to probabilistic uniform hazard spectra as a target spectrum. In doing such, one could expect that reshaped records incorporate the characteristics of seismicity in the study area.
